@xlsft/photon is a specialized library for processing and visualizing photometric data in the IES format, which complies with the LM-63-2002 standard developed by the Illuminating Engineering Society. The project is aimed at lighting engineers, software developers, and lighting design specialists who need accurate and reproducible conversion of photometric files into visual SVG graphics. The library takes an IES file containing luminaire parameters and light intensity distribution in various angular planes as input and converts this data into scalable vector visualizations suitable for integration into web interfaces, reports, technical documentation, and automated equipment selection systems.

The library is based on the correct parsing of the LM-63-2002 structure, taking into account the photometric type, angular grids, and luminous intensity values, which allows for accurate reproduction of the spatial light distribution. Currently, the library supports:

• Construction of a technical drawing of a luminaire based on geometric parameters from a file
• Construction of a linear light intensity distribution curve for photometric type C
• Construction of a polar light intensity distribution curve for type C

With correct interpretation of vertical and horizontal angles. All visualizations are generated in SVG format, which ensures scalability without loss of quality, the ability to style using CSS, and easy integration into modern web applications.

The project is being developed with a view to expanding its analytical capabilities. In the next versions, we plan to add isocandela diagrams, which allow you to display lines of equal light intensity in space, isolux graphs for analyzing the distribution of illumination on a given surface, graphs for assessing discomfort glare according to the BUG system, and light beam intensity diagrams for more detailed analysis of optical characteristics.
